The Dark Side of AshlandThere will always be things in life we don’t wish to remember. For me it’s my childhood, because you see most children are afraid of the boogieman and vampires… I was afraid of the people in my town. The town I grew up in was an interesting little place that puts witch hunts of Salem Massachusetts to shame. Ashland Maine is a town where cult activity was never a problem, there was the church. In the head of this church was a man who thought that swing music was the devil’s work… this was during the eighties. So I think that sets the tone for the religious attitude toward modern society.
